It was a very emotional weekend for San Francisco 49ers' wide receiver Marquise Goodwin. The 26-year-old and his wife Morgan said goodbye to their son at around 4 a.m. on Sunday morning after he was born prematurely and died due to pregnancy complications.

Goodwin showed up on the field later that day to do his job, but when he scored an 83-yard touchdown in the second quarter, the emotions were just too much for him to handle. Goodwin looked up to the sky, dropped to his knees in the end zone, and broke down.

The clip is so heartbreaking to watch, but the fact that Goodwin was able to help his team secure the win after what had to be the toughest moment of his young life so far is commendable. It takes a strength that most people do not possess.

According to ESPN, Goodwin left the stadium right after the game so that he could be at home with his family.

"Despite our loss, my hubby kept grinding, scored his son a touchdown & got our first “W” of the season," wrote Morgan Goodwin in an Instagram post. "I️ appreciate everyone who kept us in their prayers and constantly checked in on us. This was truly and an [sic] amazing experience and it was also a tragic experience. But that’s okay because we won’t stop fighting and we won’t give up on what God has in store for us."

Prayers up for the Goodwin family as they cope with these hard times.
